Vesper Portable Toilets San Diego team

Built for San Diego, by People Who Live Here

Vesper Portable Toilets is a locally owned and operated portable sanitation company headquartered at 9883 Aero Dr in the San Diego County service yard. We chose this location intentionally: it sits at the geographic and logistical heart of San Diego County, with direct freeway access to the I-15, I-805, SR-52, and SR-163. That gives our trucks a realistic shot at meeting our same-day delivery promise from La Jolla to Spring Valley, from Oceanside to Alpine — even on a Friday afternoon when the I-5 is at a standstill.

We were started by people who had spent years working on construction sites and producing public events in San Diego, and who were tired of dealing with portable toilet vendors who treated every job like a faceless transaction. Vesper exists to do the opposite: answer the phone, show up when we say we will, deliver units that are actually clean, and bill exactly what we quoted.

What "Local" Actually Means

San Diego is not a one-size-fits-all market. The portable sanitation needs of a coastal wedding at the Martin Johnson House are nothing like those of a tilt-up warehouse project in Otay Mesa, which are nothing like those of a wildfire evacuation center stood up overnight in Ramona. Being local means we understand those differences and price, dispatch, and stock accordingly.

  • We know San Diego's permit landscape. The City of San Diego Special Events Office, the Port of San Diego, the County Department of Environmental Health and Quality (DEHQ), County Parks, State Parks, and the dozens of HOA boards in Rancho Santa Fe and Fairbanks Ranch each have their own rules. We help you navigate them.
  • We know San Diego's terrain. Hillside lots in Mt. Helix, narrow alleys in Bankers Hill, gated entrances in 4S Ranch, sand placement at Mission Beach, and dirt access roads in Jamul — we have the truck configurations and crane-lift options to deliver where standard pump trucks cannot.
  • We know San Diego's calendar. Comic-Con, KAABOO, Padres home stands, Pendleton training cycles, fire season, and the late-spring wedding rush all create demand spikes. We plan inventory and scheduling around them so our regular customers are never bumped.

How We Operate

Our Yard & Fleet

Our San Diego County yard is a working sanitation facility — not a warehouse where units sit and gather dust. Every returning unit goes through a three-stage refurbishment: high-pressure interior wash, chemical sanitation and deodorization, and full hardware inspection (door springs, vent screens, paper-roll holders, urinal screens, latch mechanisms). Units with cracks, burn marks, graffiti, or worn seats are pulled from rotation and either repaired or retired.

Our vacuum-truck fleet is sized and routed for San Diego specifically — including smaller, narrower trucks for tight-access residential streets in Mission Hills and South Park, and larger combo units for high-volume construction routes in Otay Mesa and Carmel Valley.

Our Service Standard

Every weekly service stop includes pumping the waste tank, rinsing the holding tank, refilling the freshwater flush reservoir (on flushing units), restocking toilet paper and hand sanitizer, deodorizing the interior, and a visual inspection of the unit. Our technicians leave a service tag in the unit so site supervisors and event hosts know exactly when it was last serviced and by whom.

Our Insurance & Compliance

Vesper Portable Toilets carries $2,000,000 in commercial general liability and $1,000,000 in automobile liability. We can name your project, GC, venue, or municipality as additional insured at no charge and typically deliver certificates within one business day. We are registered with the California Secretary of State, hold all required CDPH waste-hauler endorsements for our service trucks, and dispose of waste only at permitted municipal treatment facilities.

Our Service Philosophy

We believe portable sanitation is a small line item that creates a wildly disproportionate amount of stress when it is handled poorly. A late delivery shuts down a framing crew. A dirty unit ends up in a wedding photo. A missing ADA toilet can invalidate an event permit. We treat those risks seriously and run our operation to eliminate them.

What you can count on from us

  • A phone call confirming your delivery the day before, with a two-hour window.
  • A driver in a marked Vesper vehicle with PPE, signage, and a paper service ticket — not a sub-contracted unmarked truck.
  • Placement exactly where you asked, with chocking and door-orientation tailored to wind direction and pedestrian flow.
  • Service stops that arrive within the agreed window, regardless of weather or traffic.
  • Honest invoicing: what we quoted is what you pay, with no surprise fuel, environmental, or relocation surcharges added after the fact.
